In a Japanese city, they want to limit smartphones: no more than 2 hours per day

In the Japanese city of Toyoake, they plan to limit smartphone usage time to two hours a day, reports UPI.
Local authorities have put forward an initiative aimed at combating digital addiction. The city council will consider a draft ordinance in which residents are advised not to spend more than two hours a day on smartphones, tablets, and computers (outside of work and study).
According to the city's mayor, Masafumi Koki, the document also contains recommendations for children regarding screen time limits: elementary school students should stop by 9:00 PM, and high school students by 10:00 PM.
It is noted that the ordinance is purely advisory in nature and does not provide for fines or other sanctions.
"The two-hour limit on smartphone use is just advice. The main goal of the initiative is to draw attention to the problem and help prevent negative consequences of excessive gadget use for the health and daily lives of city residents," emphasized the mayor.
