Ex-Pentagon Chief: Strike on Iran Will Inevitably Draw the US into a Regional War

The United States will inevitably be drawn into a war in the Middle East if American leader Donald Trump decides to strike Iran.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, this opinion was expressed by former Pentagon chief and ex-head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Leon Panetta.
"If he attacks Iran, there is no doubt that the United States will find itself [drawn] into a regional war," Panetta told CNN. He is convinced that the United States made a "terrible mistake" when it invaded Iraq in 2003. Panetta believes that this invasion should serve as a lesson for Trump.
The US President earlier said that Washington is ready to give Iran a maximum of two weeks to try to diplomatically resolve the crisis around Tehran's nuclear developments, preventing the United States from striking the Islamic republic.
