ChatGPT started demanding passports from users

Chatbot ChatGPT started requesting identity verification using a passport when suspecting that a person is under 18 years old.

As BAKU.WS reports, this was announced by Reddit users.

According to them, until verification is completed, the system does not allow access to "adult" topic discussions.

Moreover, in some cases, the request appears even for adult users. For example, one of them stated that verification was required despite the fact that he is 30 years old. OpenAI clarified that the feature is being implemented gradually and is currently mainly being tested in English-speaking regions. However, ChatGPT itself denied this information.

"No, I do not request passport data to verify age. Usually, simpler methods are used for this, such as age restrictions in settings or verification via email or phone. It's always important to maintain data confidentiality and security," the neural network clarified.
