Azerbaijan sentences individual who distributed child pornography videos

Sentenced for distributing child pornography on Telegram.

As lent.az reports, 23-year-old Murad Ismayilov (name and surname are conditional - ed.) received materials related to child pornography from an unknown source.

In total, he posted 71 such videos on his Telegram channel and offered them to subscribers.

Additionally, on his other channel, he made posts about fake promotions, discounts, and even about paying fines with discounts. Interested subscribers, when visiting these pages, provided the numbers of their bank cards or their relatives' cards. As a result, using this method, Murad spent more than 2,000 manats of the victims' money on online payments for services such as Netflix, TikTok, Bolt-Food, and others.

For these acts, Murad Ismayilov was detained by law enforcement agencies, and a criminal case was initiated against him under Articles 171-1.1 (distribution of child pornography), 177.2.2 (repeated theft), 177.2.3-1 (theft using electronic data carriers or information technologies), and 242 (illegal distribution of pornographic materials or items) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

By decision of the Yasamal District Court, M.Ismayilov was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months imprisonment with a probation period of 3 years.
