An F-16 fighter jet crashed in Ukraine

Ukraine has lost an F-16 fighter jet during a combat mission.

As local media report, the pilot managed to eject.

"On July 29, the aircraft was carrying out a combat mission to intercept enemy aerial targets in one of the frontline sectors. An emergency situation occurred on board, which forced the pilot to eject. He was successfully evacuated and taken to a medical facility for examination," the statement says.

It is noted that there were no civilian casualties or damage. Experts and law enforcement are working at the crash site, and the causes of the incident are being determined.
