An asteroid the size of a 15-story building is approaching Earth

NASA reported that asteroid 2024 YR4, which had a probability of colliding with Earth, is approximately the height of a 15-story building.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to NASA, the Webb space telescope obtained detailed images of the asteroid that could have collided with Earth in 2032. This space object, discovered last year, initially caused global alarm, as initial calculations showed a 3 percent probability of collision with our planet.
However, subsequent observations showed that the danger has been virtually reduced to zero. Nevertheless, the probability of the asteroid colliding with the Moon still exists.
Images published by NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) show that the asteroid's diameter is approximately 60 meters, which corresponds to the height of a 15-story building.
Despite the fact that the Webb telescope is the largest and most powerful telescope ever launched into space, this asteroid turned out to be one of the smallest objects it has observed.
Johns Hopkins University astronomer Andrew Rivkin noted that these Webb observations are a crucial test for tracking asteroids that may pose a danger to Earth in the future. Ground-based telescopes also continued to observe this celestial body in recent months.
