A strong earthquake occurred in China

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred in the northwestern province of Gansu in China, resulting in 9 people injured.

This was reported by the Xinhua agency.

"In Longxi and Zhangxian counties of Dingxi city, nine people were injured, 4,328 houses were damaged, and 7,812 people were evacuated," the agency reports.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), the epicenter was at a depth of 10 km.

The earthquake was strongly felt in Longxi, Zhangxian, Weiyuan, and Lintao counties of Dingxi city, as well as in Wushan county of Tianshui city.
