A strong earthquake has occurred in yet another country
An underground tremor with a magnitude of 6.8 was recorded on Monday in the western part of Mongolia, 556 km southwest of Kyzyl (Tuva).
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Interfax", this was announced by the Altai-Sayan branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to the operational data processing of the Altai-Sayan branch, the epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at 07:23 Moscow time (8:23 Baku time - ed.) on Monday, was located approximately 400 km from the Russian-Mongolian border and 150 km from the border of Mongolia with China.
The intensity of tremors at the epicenter was 9.1 on the MSK-64 scale.
Earthquakes, including fairly strong ones, periodically occur in the regions of Mongolia bordering Tuva, the Altai Republic, the western part of Buryatia, and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.
