A ship with thousands of American Marines has arrived in the Middle East

Approximately 3,500 American sailors and Marines have arrived in the Middle East aboard the amphibious assault ship Tripoli.

This was reported by the press service of the U.S. Central Command on X.

"American sailors and Marines aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) arrived in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility on March 27," the statement said.

As specified, the ship serves as the flagship of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

"The group includes approximately 3,500 sailors and Marines, as well as transport and fighter aircraft, landing craft, and other equipment," the command noted.
