Unexpected berry turned out to be more effective than vitamin C

Scientists from CSIRO and the University of Adelaide (Australia) have found that SunGold kiwifruit can significantly improve a person's mental state. The results of the randomized clinical trial were published in the journal Nutrients.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Nutrients, 26 adults with low vitamin C levels participated in the experiment. One group was given two kiwis daily, while the other received vitamin C in capsules. Specialists monitored changes in mood, stress levels, and fatigue.
The results showed that kiwi works faster and more effectively: after just four days, participants experienced reduced fatigue, and after a week, their mood and sense of vitality improved. Vitamin C supplements also helped, but the effect was weaker and appeared later.
Researchers note that kiwi provides the body not only with vitamin C but also with other bioactive compounds that enhance antioxidant protection and support the nervous system. According to them, regular consumption of this fruit can be an accessible way to strengthen mental health and reduce the effects of stress.
