It has become known when eternal night will come to Earth

Astrophysicists have calculated that the influence of dark matter can lead to Earth warming by 0.015 degrees every 100 years. Over time, this effect accumulates: over a millennium, the temperature will increase by 0.15 degrees, and over a million years - by 1.5 degrees or more, reports Zakon.kz.
These calculations were published on the arXiv server. Scientists clarify that not all of the released heat is retained inside the planet, and this factor needs to be taken into account.
In addition, researchers found that dark matter can also affect Earth's rotation. According to their estimates, the length of a day decreases by approximately 12 seconds every century. If this effect were extended to the entire age of the planet - 4.5 billion years - the total reduction would be 540 million seconds, or about 17 years. However, this does not mean that initially days were exactly 17 years longer. The change in Earth's rotation speed occurred unevenly.
Similar calculations were conducted for 15 exoplanets. In areas with high concentrations of dark matter, its influence becomes dominant, causing acceleration in planetary rotation.
The most noticeable effect would be on the gas giant Epsilon Indi A b, located 11-12 light years from Earth. If it were located closer to the center of the galaxy, rather than in its current position, its day would shorten by approximately 10 seconds every 100 years. Considering the planet's mass, which exceeds Jupiter by seven times, this is a very significant change.
