Doctor revealed unexpected danger of carrots and debunked myths about it

Carrots are traditionally considered one of the most beneficial vegetables, rich in vitamins and minerals. However, few people realize that excessive consumption of this bright root vegetable can lead to serious health problems. Dietitian Lyudmila Lapa warns: carrots contain histamines and are a potentially allergenic product.
- People predisposed to allergies may develop rashes on the very first day of consumption. Even in healthy individuals, an allergic reaction can develop after approximately two weeks of regular consumption. It's optimal to include such products in your diet no more than once or twice a week. If you are prone to allergies, it's important to gradually adapt your body, - the specialist emphasized.
Lapa recommends being particularly cautious with carrot fresh juices. According to the doctor, such drinks can cause toxic dermatitis in allergy sufferers. If you still enjoy carrot juice, it's better to combine it with products rich in vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids.
Interestingly, the common belief about the beneficial effects of carrots on vision turns out to be exaggerated. The doctor explained that the vegetable doesn't improve vision directly, but only promotes microcirculation by nourishing blood vessels. For maximum benefit, carrots are recommended to be consumed with fats - for example, adding sour cream significantly improves the absorption of beneficial substances.
Daily consumption of raw carrots can negatively affect the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Lyudmila Lapa emphasizes the importance of variety in nutrition: the diet should include various products prepared in different ways, reports "Radio 1".
