UEFA Champions League: Galatasaray thrashes Juventus
Istanbul's Galatasaray thrashed Turin's Juventus in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs.
The match at Rams Park in Istanbul ended with a score of 5:2.
The hosts opened the scoring, with Gabriel Sara finding the net on the 15th minute. A minute later, Juventus restored parity after a goal by Teun Koopmeiners. On the 32nd minute, the Dutchman scored a brace. This goal turned out to be the last for the visitors.
In the second half, Galatasaray players scored four times. On the 49th and 75th minutes, Noa Lang struck the opponent's goal, while Davinson Sanchez (60') and Sacha Boey (86') each added one more goal.
On the 67th minute, Juventus player Juan Cabal received his second yellow card and was sent off the field.
The return leg between the teams will take place on February 26 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin and will kick off at 00:00 Baku time.
