Azerbaijani boxers delivered a successful start at the World Championship in Montenegro

Two Azerbaijani boxers defeated their opponents at the start of the U-19 Junior World Championship in Budva, Montenegro.

As Report informs, on the first day of the tournament, Nihat Gasimov (55 kg) and Safar Mamedzade (+90 kg) stepped into the ring.

N. Gasimov faced Nursultan Dushonaliyev from Kyrgyzstan in the 1/32 finals. The bout ended with a victory for the Azerbaijani boxer with a score of 3:2 (29:28, 28:29, 30:27, 30:27, 27:30). In his next bout on October 18, Nihat will face Arjanpal Hundal (Canada).

S. Mamedzade defeated Kirill Zhukovsky in the 1/8 finals. The national team member beat his opponent with a score of 3:2 (27:29, 28*:28, 27:29, 29:27, 29:27). He will have his second bout on October 23 against Russian Ivan Baibakov.

It should be noted that the World Championship will conclude on October 27.
