Head of CBA Announced Inflation Forecast for 2026-2027
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) under its baseline scenario forecasts inflation at 6.1% by the end of 2026 and 5.8% by the end of 2027.
This was stated by CBA Chairman Taleh Kazimov in an interview with Global Finance magazine.
He emphasized that the main goal is to ensure price stability.
"Despite the risks of inflation acceleration from the supply side, both indicators are within the established corridor," Kazimov noted.
According to him, the main task is to further develop the interest rate transmission channel and strengthen its impact.
"The main task is not to change the target indicator, but to develop the interest rate transmission channel and strengthen its impact, maintaining exchange rate stability as the main anchor and interbank rates as an auxiliary anchor for domestic inflation," the CBA head stated.
