In recent years, the "campus" model has become widespread in global higher education. A campus is not just a building for classes, but a unified space where a student simultaneously studies, socializes, and relaxes. This model combines a library, dormitory, cafeteria, sports complex, recreation areas, and even platforms for implementing various social projects. The goal is to provide for all aspects of a student's daily life within the educational institution.

Today, most leading universities in the USA, Germany, UK, Canada, and Scandinavian countries operate according to this system. For example, universities such as Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, and Stanford have extensive campuses for students' academic and social development. In these spaces, students not only attend classes but also conduct scientific research, organize debates and seminars, implement social projects, and participate in cultural events.

In Azerbaijan, certain steps are also being taken towards transitioning to this model. Some universities are implementing specific projects to create student-oriented infrastructure and social environment. One of them is Azerbaijan Technical University.

As BAKU.WS was informed by the institution's press service, favorable conditions have been created in various areas to ensure student comfort in the university campus. The Library and Information Center, Sports Palace, cafeteria, and other facilities meeting modern standards serve students throughout the day. Additionally, book kiosks installed in the university courtyard aim to increase interest in reading during free time. New projects are implemented annually in this direction.

One of the modern student-oriented approaches is also applied at Baku State University (BSU). According to university information, in recent years, alongside the development of the learning environment, a number of initiatives have been implemented for student socialization. One such project is the open public zone "Student Space." This place is designed for debates and discussions, communication, and implementation of students' social projects. When developing its design, ecological solutions and green technologies were used as a foundation – the space is fully illuminated by solar panels.

One of the most notable projects is the "Eco-space" created on BSU territory. In this space, students are given the opportunity to gain experience in green energy, production of environmentally friendly products, and application of environmental knowledge. This zone, located on an area of about 1000 sq.m, is also used for organizing various events and conducting research. Moreover, this space is open not only to BSU students but also to students and pupils from other universities, colleges, and schools.

Such initiatives demonstrate the transition of Azerbaijani universities from the classical education model to a modern campus system. However, compared to global experience, a full-fledged campus model has not yet been formed in the country. Integrated campuses that combine education, accommodation, healthcare, social life, and culture, as in Harvard, Stanford, or Scandinavian universities, have not yet been widely implemented.
