Turkish seismologist stated there is no threat of new earthquakes after a 6.2 magnitude tremor

Famous Turkish seismologist Ovgun Ahmet Ercan made a statement regarding possible earthquakes in the Marmara region after the recent 6.2 magnitude tremor.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the scientist reassured the public, stating that no destructive earthquakes are expected in the near future:
"If we analyze the history of earthquakes in the Marmara region over the past 2000 years, the most powerful ones occurred during the periods 553-1509 and 1509-1999. Until now, 16 destructive earthquakes have occurred in the region. Now the 17th destructive earthquake is expected, which, according to our calculations, may occur around 2064.
The earliest possible time for a potential earthquake falls within the period of 2045-2085. Since the last major earthquake occurred in 1999, about 100 years should pass before the next serious tremor.
According to all our calculations, the probability of a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in the Marmara region in the next few years is extremely low or non-existent."

Recall that several days ago, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Istanbul.
