US President Donald Trump proposed renaming the Strait of Hormuz to the "Strait of Trump."
He wrote about this on Truth Social.
"Now that it is under US control, shouldn't we change the name of the Strait of Hormuz to the STRAIT OF TRUMP??? Like America itself, it would be 'hotter' than ever before!" Trump wrote.
It should be noted that on September 1, the US Armed Forces launched massive strikes on Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC, in turn, reported that Iran carried out retaliatory strikes against US bases in the Middle East.
