Road markings on one of the main avenues of the Khatai district of Baku - Ganja Avenue - have caused confusion among drivers.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, the cause of the confusion was line 1.1, separating the right lane from the other traffic lanes.

"People are afraid to enter the right lane. Previously, there was a bus lane there. Then black paint was applied over the white paint. This paint wore off, and the white remained as a solid line. It's unclear whether we can change to the right lane or not," said one of the drivers.

The press secretary of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), Tural Orujov, in a comment to the website's editorial staff, stated that there are no problems with entering the right lane on this section of the road.

"Special traffic lanes organized on some streets and avenues as part of the transport provision for COP29 lost their validity after the event ended. Road signs 5.9 'Lane for route vehicles' were dismantled, and the markings were removed," he explained.

According to T. Orujov, regardless of the condition of the markings, in the absence of sign 5.9, drivers can freely use these lanes.

"Regular monitoring of the capital's roads is conducted. Identified inconsistencies are eliminated. When driving, drivers should be guided by the requirements of road signs," emphasized the AYNA representative.
