In Baku, an apartment of a famous artist was robbed of 200 thousand manats

A major theft occurred in Baku from the apartment of famous artist and member of the Artists' Union Elchin Gasimov.

As reported by Baku.ws with reference to Qafqazinfo, valuables worth 200 thousand manats were stolen from the artist's apartment located on Bulbul Avenue in the Nasimi district.

During the investigation, it was established that the theft was committed by the building's security guard, 34-year-old Uzeir Aliyev, a native of the Jalilabad district.

Among the stolen items were collectible wristwatches, items of historical value, and collectible beverages. Expensive fur coats belonging to Gasimov's wife were also stolen, including a black "Roberto Cavalli" fur coat worth 13,000 manats and other branded items with a total value of more than 60,000 manats.

The detained security guard has been charged under Articles 177.3.2 (large-scale theft) and 183 (theft of items of special value) of the Criminal Code.

As revealed in court, the theft occurred when the Gasimov family was at their summer house. The artist entrusted the keys to his six-room apartment of 400 square meters to the security guard Uzeir.

After the guard's arrest, some of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owners.

The Baku Court for Serious Crimes sentenced the perpetrator to 8 years in prison.
