In Azerbaijan, son hacked his father to death and disposed of the body with his mother

The trial of J. Bayramov (born 2008), accused of murder, has concluded at the Sheki Court for Serious Crimes.

As Baku.ws reports, citing pravda.az, under the chairmanship of Judge Tural Efendizade, the verdict was announced: J. Bayramov was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison.

The incident occurred on December 22, 2023, in the Balakan district. According to the investigation, J. Bayramov killed his father, Gahraman Bayramov (born 1975), during a family conflict by striking him with an axe.

In court, the accused explained that he acted to protect his mother, as he saw his father holding a knife to her throat. Fearing for her life, he grabbed an axe and struck Gahraman Bayramov on the back of the head. After the man fell, he continued striking his face.

After realizing what had happened, J. Bayramov told his mother about his intention to surrender to the police, but the woman threatened to commit suicide if he did so. Together with another son, they concealed the body by throwing it from a bridge into the river in Isakhlyghirme village, after which they told relatives that Gahraman had left home.

It is known that the deceased had previously served time for a criminal offense and was released just days before the tragedy.
