Ban on incandescent light bulbs comes into force in Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev approved amendments to the law "On Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency," adopted by the Milli Mejlis on April 11.
According to the amendments, the import, production, and sale of incandescent electric lamps that can be used for lighting in alternating current circuits are prohibited, with the exception of incandescent lamps specifically designed for use in production processes and products whose primary purpose is not lighting.
The ban will come into effect on January 1, 2026, for incandescent lamps with a power of 60 W and above, and for incandescent lamps with a power of 25 W (inclusive) to 60 W - from July 1, 2026.
