Maxim Galkin may "lose his name"

Rospatent has received an application to terminate the legal protection of the trademark "Maxim Galkin," reports RT.
If the agency decides to annul it, the artist will lose exclusive rights to use his name. In that case, any third party would be able to register this trademark for themselves and prohibit Galkin himself from using it on Russian territory.
The reason cited for the application is the liquidation of the individual entrepreneur business that owned the trademark. According to the Unified Register of Legal Entities, Galkin closed his individual entrepreneur business on January 18, 2023.
The president of the "First Patent Company" Anatoly Aronov, who submitted the application to Rospatent, explained: "Why do we need this trademark if there is no one to use it anymore? We have to clear the field so that nothing gets in the way."
