The shores of Azerbaijan will be protected by the BARBAROS system

At the ADEX 2026 exhibition, a contract was signed between ROKETSAN and the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan for the supply of the BARBAROS coastal defense system.

As reported by Oxu.Az with reference to Haber Global TV channel, according to the company's statement, the BARBAROS system will be added to the arsenal of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

ROKETSAN General Director Murat İkinci emphasized that the unbreakable fraternal bonds between Turkey and Azerbaijan are being strengthened day by day in the field of defense industry, and the supply of the BARBAROS system will make a strategic contribution to these relations.

According to him, ROKETSAN is always ready to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan with advanced missile, rocket systems, and ammunition: "With its superior characteristics, BARBAROS will play the role of a new strategic defender of Azerbaijan's coastline."

BARBAROS is designed as a system that corresponds to the coastal defense concept and is capable of operating with ATMACA and ÇAKIR cruise missiles integrated into a mobile battery. The system has the capability to plan missions using a launcher and a command-and-control vehicle within the battery, and can also be integrated into a centralized combat management system.

Operating with ATMACA and ÇAKIR cruise missiles, which possess high mobility and powerful strike potential, the system, thanks to its mobile design, is capable of rapidly responding to threats from the sea.
