Nikolai Valuev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, has been banned from entering Azerbaijan.
As Report informs, this was stated by the head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Aykhan Hajizade, in response to local media questions about the anti-Azerbaijani statements of the Russian State Duma deputy and measures to be taken against him.
It was noted that Nikolai Valuev's offensive expressions and threatening statements against the Azerbaijani state and people are absolutely unacceptable.
"The offensive statements by Nikolai Valuev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, directed against Azerbaijan and our people, and threatening statements against our country are completely unacceptable.
Due to the deputy's anti-Azerbaijani views, his name has been included in the list of persons banned from entering the Republic of Azerbaijan, and he has been prohibited from entering our country.
In general, we would like to note that this is not the first case of Russian State Duma deputies being included in the "undesirable persons" list. For example, previously, First Deputy of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Family Protection Vitaly Milonov, who spoke against Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, were also included in the relevant list as "undesirable persons" in Azerbaijan.
We regretfully state that all these deputies acting against our country are members of Russia's ruling party - United Russia party.
Appropriate steps will be taken within the framework of our country's legislation against such persons who act against our country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the Azerbaijani people," Hajizade stated.
