As reported by BAKU.WS, in response, a petition was launched at the initiative of the Azerbaijani-American Youth Federation.
Its goal is to convey accurate information to the global public and achieve a more objective stance from international bodies. Azerbaijanis living in various countries around the world have joined the petition, expressing their protest against the council member's post.
The petition emphasizes that such approaches raise serious concern at a time when the United States supports the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The document references the UN assessment of October 2, 2023, according to which no violence against civilians or destruction of infrastructure was recorded in Karabakh.
At the same time, it is recalled that during the 44-day war, the cities of Ganja, Barda, and Tartar were subjected to rocket and artillery shelling, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to residential and social facilities. The petition also draws attention to the Khojaly tragedy of February 1992, when hundreds of civilians were killed.
