Resonant speech of President Ilham Aliyev: political messages from the cultural capital

The III Shusha Global Media Forum has become an important platform for open dialogue, exchange of opinions, and cooperation in Azerbaijan's information policy. This year's theme "Digital Transitions: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" is a direct response to the challenges facing the media.
President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the forum, particularly emphasized the importance that the country attaches to media policy. According to him, Azerbaijani mass media have already become a powerful tool for protecting national interests and countering information attacks. The head of state once again conveyed to the international audience Azerbaijan's position and principles in the information sphere. And his position on the Ukrainian issue was resolute: "Never agree to occupation! This is the main advice. This is what we did," noted the Azerbaijani leader.
This statement by the President of Azerbaijan caused a wide resonance in Ukrainian media. According to political scientist Rashad Bayramov, the head of state's answer to the Ukrainian journalist's question contains a number of important points.
"On the one hand, support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine was another confirmation of the position that the Azerbaijani side has demonstrated on various platforms so far. On the other hand, it was clearly indicated that what is happening in Ukraine is occupation, and it was specified who the occupier is.
Naturally, as a country whose territories were under occupation for many years, whose sovereignty was violated, we can better assess the situation in Ukraine. By expressing this position, the head of state also shared valuable experience," the expert emphasized.
