Lithuanian journalist: Ilham Aliyev demonstrated rare straightforwardness and sincerity for politicians

Azerbaijan today demonstrates itself as a strong, resilient and reliable country, capable of handling complex challenges and confidently advancing on the path of sustainable development.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by the well-known Lithuanian military journalist Richardas Lapaitis during the III Shusha Global Media Forum.

According to him, these qualities were particularly evident during yesterday's meeting of President Ilham Aliyev with the forum participants.

R. Lapaitis noted that the head of state demonstrated strong political will, strategic thinking and openness to direct and sincere dialogue with the international community.

"It is especially symbolic that the meeting took place in the city of Khankendi, which has experienced many tragic events in the past. This in itself is already a message to the world. I was deeply impressed by the President's speech. Such things can rarely be seen. I say this with full responsibility: the questions asked in the hall were very open. There were representatives from 52 countries in the hall, and each had their own interests and views," he said.

The journalist emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev resolutely answered all difficult questions:

"The President of Azerbaijan had a choice: either to resort to diplomatic expressions and vague answers, or to give an open, honest, fair answer. What I saw yesterday were truly direct, sincere answers without attempting to avoid the essence. I have never encountered such a level of openness at international forums."
