Jeyhun Bayramov and Kairat Sarybay discussed the priorities for the further development of CICA

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay discussed the outcomes of the organization's VII summit in Baku and the priorities for further institutional development of the association.

As reported to BAKU.WS by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties also exchanged views on the work carried out within the framework of the country's CICA chairmanship in 2024-2026 and the tasks for the upcoming period.

The meeting highlighted the significance of the successful summit for strengthening dialogue, mutual understanding, and trust in Asia. The parties expressed confidence that its outcomes would contribute to the intensification of CICA's activities, the expansion of cooperation among member states, and the development of joint approaches to common challenges.

Special attention was given to the agreements on the summit's final documents, which define the further directions of the association's work and are designed to enhance its practical effectiveness.

The parties noted Azerbaijan's rich experience in the field of multilateral diplomacy. It was emphasized that the country's chairmanship is aimed at strengthening the international role and authority of CICA, expanding cooperation opportunities among participants, and promoting confidence-building measures.

During the meeting, the work on accelerating CICA's institutional development, enhancing the efficiency of its activities, and practical benefits for member states was also discussed. The development of cooperation in the areas of education, women's empowerment, youth and media policy, as well as transport connectivity was separately noted.

Kairat Sarybay thanked Azerbaijan for organizing the VII Summit at a high level, its contribution to CICA's activities, and the support provided to him during his six years as Secretary General. He also wished success to the organization's new Secretary General Sultan Hajiyev.

Bayramov, in turn, thanked Sarybay for the work accomplished and wished him success in his further professional endeavors.
