Ilham Aliyev congratulated the vice-president of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the Vice President of the Chess Federation of AR Faig Hasanov.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:

"Dear Faig muallim!

I heartily congratulate you on your 85th birthday.

You have made a significant contribution to the development, wide popularization of chess in Azerbaijan and the preparation of a new generation of chess players. You have great merit in the successful organization of numerous chess competitions in our country.

For many years, the world chess community has recognized and valued you as an authoritative chief arbiter who has upheld fairness in more than 150 prestigious international tournaments, including the FIDE Grand Prix, the World Chess Olympiad and the World Cup, and respects your fruitful activities.

Your contribution to the development of the Azerbaijani chess school has been highly appreciated by the state and you have been repeatedly awarded.

On this significant day, I express my best wishes to you, wishing you long life and good health".
