Ali Asadov: "Since 2022, freight transportation along the Middle Corridor has increased by approximately 90%"

Azerbaijan has achieved an increase in cargo transportation volume along the Middle Corridor by approximately 90% since 2022, and the transit time for cargo has been significantly reduced.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by Prime Minister Ali Asadov in Turkmenistan at the plenary session of the III UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
"Azerbaijan is a country that makes a significant contribution to the East-West and North-South transport corridors. The largest merchant fleet on the Caspian Sea, consisting of more than 50 vessels, a shipbuilding plant where 10 ships are currently under construction, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, whose capacity will reach 25 million tons per year in the coming years, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, nine international airports, the largest air transportation company in the region, and many other factors have transformed Azerbaijan into one of the international transport hubs. For example, the fact that container block trains from several Chinese cities are delivered to Baku in just 10-12 days emphasizes the importance of the Middle Corridor as a significant trade route," he noted.
