President Ilham Aliyev signed an important order regarding the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan On additional measures for the reconstruction and restoration of the distribution power grid of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree "On additional measures for the reconstruction and restoration of the distribution power grid of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic".

According to AZERTAG, the document states:

"The modernization of the electric power system, including the distribution power grid, and their improvement based on the application of innovative technologies are of particular importance for the sustainable socio-economic development of our country.

The consistent reforms implemented in our country in this area in recent years have laid the foundation for a qualitative change in the philosophy of management and development of the energy system, and have served to provide consumers with more reliable, sustainable, safe and efficient electricity supply.

The work carried out to ensure the sustainability of economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which is an integral part of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in turn, makes improving the quality of utility infrastructure, including the distribution power grid, and ensuring public access to uninterrupted and safe energy one of the key priorities.

Guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in order to ensure the stability of the distribution power grid in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, further improve infrastructure in this area, increase the efficiency and quality of energy supply to consumers, I decree:

1. To approve the "Action Plan for the reconstruction and restoration of the distribution power grid of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2026-2030" (hereinafter - the Action Plan).

2. Azerishig Open Joint Stock Company shall ensure the implementation of the measures provided for in the Action Plan and inform the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan once a year about the progress of their implementation.

3. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall:

3.1. in order to finance the activities provided for in the Action Plan, take the necessary measures to provide for the required financial resources in the draft state budget for subsequent years.

3.2. resolve other issues arising from this decree".
