A trilateral meeting of Azerbaijan - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan was held in Avaza

A trilateral meeting was held in Avaza (Turkmenistan) between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the Cabinet of Ministers.

A. Asadov conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the head of state of Uzbekistan.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude for President Ilham Aliyev's greetings and asked to convey their greetings to the head of the Azerbaijani state.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the special place of Azerbaijan in the family of Central Asian countries and in the Consultative Council of Heads of State, noting that the President of Azerbaijan has done a lot of work in this direction. According to them, Azerbaijan, along with the countries of the region, is of great importance both for Eurasia and for the whole world.

G. Berdimuhamedov noted that the format of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan already exists, this cooperation has become a requirement of the day, and emphasized the importance of turning this format into a permanent practice.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan stated that President Ilham Aliyev attaches great importance to cooperation in the Azerbaijan - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan format and assessed this meeting as the basis for creating a new format.

At the first meeting in a trilateral format, topics of developing humanitarian and cultural ties, as well as issues of economic cooperation were discussed.

At the meeting, mutual interest was expressed in further expanding strategic cooperation in the most relevant areas - transport, logistics and energy.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reported that during his visit to Azerbaijan, an agreement was reached with President Ilham Aliyev on the construction of a mosque in the Fizuli district, as well as on the twinning of the cities of Fizuli and Arkadag.
