Road police warned drivers about strong wind
Due to the windy weather conditions currently observed in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in a number of regions, yellow and orange warnings have been issued. The Main Department of the State Traffic Police (MDSTP) urges road users to be cautious and strictly observe traffic rules in order to prevent the dangers that adverse weather conditions may create on the roads.
This was reported by the MDSTP.
It is noted that owners and drivers of trailer, canvas-covered, and oversized freight vehicles must be more responsible, keep in mind that driving in windy weather is difficult and dangerous, and pay special attention to the packaging of transported cargo.
"Drivers are advised to stop their vehicles away from objects that pose risks of sliding, tipping over, and other similar hazards, and when parking, to give preference to enclosed spaces.
In particular, since visibility is reduced due to dust haze created by wind in open areas, drivers must control their speed, maintain proper following distance, and exercise caution when overtaking and maneuvering.
Pedestrians must also take into account the current weather conditions and refrain from behavior on the roads that poses a threat to the life and health of both themselves and other road users," the statement noted.
