Azerbaijan will build 7 bridges due to new terminal - OFFICIAL

"One of the major infrastructure projects is the design and construction work of the cargo terminal in Astara. According to the agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Iran, the construction of the terminal in Astara was started in 2017".
This was reported by CJSC "Azerbaijan Railways" (ADY) in response to a request from BAKU.WS.
"The territory of the terminal, which is being built by ADY, has been leased to Azerbaijan by the government of Iran for a period of 25 years. After the complete completion of the terminal construction in Astara, it is planned to increase its cargo handling capacity to 3.5 million tons per year.
About 93 percent of the design work and more than 78 percent of the construction and installation work of the terminal have already been completed. As part of the project implementation, the construction of 7 bridges is planned, in connection with which the construction and installation work on the Bakhchasaray bridge has been fully completed, and 75% of the construction and installation work on the Kemerbendi bridge has been completed. Most of the construction and installation work on the bridges over the Virmuni River has also been completed," the statement says.
