Today is the birthday of People's Artist Fakhreddin Manafov.

Fakhreddin Manafov was born on August 2, 1955, in Khankendi. From 1975 to 1980, he studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts named after M. Aliyev.
From 1971 to 1974, he worked as a projectionist at the House of Actors named after A.M. Sharifzade, and from 1976 to 1978, he worked as an actor at the Training Theater.
From 1989 to 1993, he was an actor at the "Yug" State Theater. Since 1978, he has appeared in films at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio named after Jafar Jabbarly.
Over his 45-year creative career, F. Manafov has brought to life numerous vivid characters on screen.
He starred in such films as "The Box from the Fortress" (1982), "Park" (1983), "City Mowers" (1986), "Another Life" (1987), "Temple of Air" (1989), "Seven Days After the Murder" (1991), "Takhmina" (1993), "A Room in a Hotel" (1998), "Drongo" (2002), "Farewell, Southern City" (2006), "The Fate of the Sovereign" (2008), "The Hindu" (TV series) (2010), and many others.
His most famous and beloved screen character was Zaur from the film "Takhmina" by Azerbaijani director Rasim Ojagov, shot in 1993 based on Anar's novel "The Sixth Floor of a Five-Story Building."
In 1987, Fakhreddin Manafov was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, and in 2000, the title of People's Artist. Since 2006, he has been receiving a personal presidential pension.
The actor was married to Vahida Sadygova, a news anchor of Azerbaijan State Television, who passed away in March 2021 at the age of 65.
On August 1, 2025, F. Manafov was awarded the "Shohrat" (Glory) Order for his contributions to the development of Azerbaijani cinematographic art.
