Blogger Arsen Markaryan arrested

Moscow's Tagansky District Court has detained blogger Arsen Markaryan on charges of insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland.
As reported by TASS, this was announced by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian capital.
"At the request of investigators from the capital's IC, Arsen Markaryan has been remanded in custody as a preventive measure. Investigative actions aimed at collecting and securing the evidence base continue. As part of the criminal case investigation, he will be checked for involvement in other crimes against public safety and state authority committed on the internet," the IC stated.
On August 23, investigators detained Markaryan in the Moscow region. According to the investigation, no later than February 25, 2025, he posted a video on a popular video hosting platform for an unlimited audience, which contains information insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland.
