Zelensky: American air defense systems will definitely force Russia to end the war

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the United States has the capabilities and should provide Ukraine with air defense systems and combat aircraft for reliable protection of the country.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to RBC-Ukraine, the Ukrainian leader emphasized that such steps could force Russia to end the war: "Moreover, Putin himself, through his actions, suggests that this needs to be done."

According to Zelensky, Russia does not face serious consequences for its attacks, and the only way to stop it is to ensure reliable protection of the airspace of countries under threat.

He noted that the penetration of Russian drones into Poland remained unpunished, as did strikes on Ukraine with severe consequences - in particular, the shelling of Yarova or the attack on Kyiv on August 28.

Zelensky added that Russia can only be stopped by tough pressure, including economic pressure, as well as by ensuring collective protection of airspace. "If together with our partners we can reliably protect our sky and the sky of neighboring countries from strikes, Putin will lose the meaning of his war. On land, Russia will not be able to achieve its goals, and at sea it has already lost the ability to act," he stated.
