Woman lost 19 kg without dieting and revealed an unexpected weight loss secret
US resident Alana Kessler shared her personal story of overcoming bulimia and explained how she managed to lose 19 kilograms thanks to her own mindset-based system.
As reported by BAKU.WS citing Daily Mail, according to Kessler, the eating disorder developed in her youth. She grew up in a family where great attention was paid to appearance, and she regularly heard critical remarks. As a teenager, inspired by a movie plot about an athlete with bulimia, the girl decided that this method would help her control her figure. She would allow herself to overeat, then artificially rid herself of what she had eaten, without thinking about the consequences.
The American woman admitted that over time, food became her way of coping with stress. The habit of "eating away" emotions became ingrained, and in adulthood this led to weight gain. The turning point was a harsh comment from her father about her appearance - that's when she realized the need for change and made the decision to change her habits.
Kessler notes that she did not use diets and did not follow popular weight loss schemes. The foundation of her approach was changing her internal relationship with food - breaking the established connection between emotional experiences and the desire to eat something. In her opinion, it's important to be able to distinguish physical hunger from an impulsive urge caused by stress.
"I began to soberly listen to my body, not reacting to the chaos of emotions inside it," the woman said. A mindful approach to the body's signals helped her restore balance, get rid of destructive habits, and gradually bring herself to a healthy state.
