Val Kilmer, star of the movie "Batman Forever", has died

Hollywood star Val Kilmer has died in Los Angeles at the age of 65. The actor, who won the hearts of millions of viewers thanks to his role as Batman in the cult film "Batman Forever," passed away on Tuesday. The information about the artist's death was confirmed by the authoritative publication New York Times.
According to the NYT, the actor's daughter Mercedes Kilmer named pneumonia as the cause of her father's death. It's worth noting that in 2014, the celebrity was diagnosed with throat cancer, however, thanks to timely medical intervention, Kilmer managed to overcome the oncological disease.
Val Kilmer's creative journey began back in 1981 on the theater stage. His big screen debut came three years later - in 1984, viewers first saw the actor in the comedy film "Top Secret!" Real popularity came to Kilmer in 1986 after playing the role of Lieutenant Tom "Iceman" Kazansky in the legendary action film "Top Gun," where Tom Cruise was his partner on the set.
In 1991, the talented actor transformed into iconic rock musician Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's biographical film "The Doors." However, the financial breakthrough in Kilmer's career occurred in 1995, when he donned the mask of the Dark Knight in the blockbuster "Batman Forever." It was this role that brought the artist his first impressive fee of 7 million dollars and secured his status as a first-magnitude Hollywood star.
