Turkey shudders: wave of earthquakes engulfs the country

A series of consecutive earthquakes that occurred in Turkey in recent days has caused serious concern among the population.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to haberglobal, underground tremors in the areas of Istanbul, Bingöl, Kütahya, Amasya, and Muğla have caused panic among residents. After the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 points registered on April 23, Istanbul residents are in a state of heightened anxiety. New tremors have been continuing for almost a month.

Seismic activity is not limited to Istanbul only - underground tremors are also felt in the regions of the Mediterranean, Aegean Sea, and Inner Anatolia. The last significant earthquake with a magnitude of 6 points was recorded during nighttime on the coast of Datça in Muğla province. Tremors were also felt in neighboring provinces.

Experts emphasize the importance of careful monitoring of seismic activity in the regions of the Marmara and Aegean seas. Especially tremors in the Marmara Sea indicate the activity of faults in the region.
