Ambassador of Japan: The significance of Azerbaijan in the Middle Corridor continues to grow
The importance of Azerbaijan in the Middle Corridor connecting Asia and Europe is growing every year, and the country's role as a connecting transport and logistics hub with Central Asia will be strengthened.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Katsuya Watanabe stated this in an interview with Report.
"We believe that the importance of Azerbaijan in the Middle Corridor connecting Asia and Europe is growing every year. Given the unstable situation in neighboring countries, the South Caucasus region, with Azerbaijan at its center, is of extremely great importance in terms of sea, land and air transportation, logistics, and the movement of people," he noted.
The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan officially participates in the summit of heads of state of Central Asia, which, in his opinion, will contribute to further strengthening the country's role as a connecting link between regions.
Watanabe also recalled that during the June visit of Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov to Japan, the sides emphasized the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Caspian Route to strengthen regional and international ties.
"It is expected that further activities in this direction will expand, and the key concept will remain the strengthening of ties," the ambassador noted.
