A new wave of severe winter cold is expected in neighboring Turkey.

As BAKU.WS reports, the spring-like weather observed across the country in recent days will soon give way to winter cold again.

According to forecasts from Turkey's General Meteorological Department (MGM), temperature indicators will drop sharply, with heavy rain and snowfall expected in many regions.

Residents of Istanbul will feel the weather changes most acutely. It is reported that at the beginning of next week, the city will first experience wet snow, followed by a full-fledged snowfall.

Heavy precipitation is forecasted in the regions of the Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean seas, Western Black Sea, northern and western parts of Central Anatolia, the western part of Southeastern Anatolia, as well as in the vicinities of Nevşehir and Karaman.

Snowfalls are expected in the southeastern part of Eastern Anatolia.

The General Meteorological Department has declared a yellow level weather warning for 20 regions. These areas maintain a high risk of heavy rain and storms.

An even greater temperature drop is expected with the beginning of the new week.

It is noted that from Monday, starting from the Thrace region, temperatures will rapidly decrease, with frost recorded in some places.

Temperatures are forecast to drop to minus 1 degree in Kırklareli and Edirne, while in Istanbul they will fall from 15 to 5 degrees.
