Trump took his first flight on the "flying palace" gifted by Qatar
U.S. President Donald Trump used the Boeing 747-8 gifted by Qatar for the first time.
This was reported by Reuters.
"Honestly, we would not have been able to build such a plane because we would not have been willing to spend the money needed. And they spent enormous sums (...). They did everything befitting a president, and that means they provided security and all sorts of additional measures, very complex things," the head of the White House said about Qatari authorities aboard the aircraft.
The cost of the Boeing 747-8 jet is estimated at $400 million, potentially making it the most valuable gift to the U.S. government from a foreign state. Democrats in the U.S. Congress called the incident a scandal and "another Trump grift." However, the American leader criticized their statements, describing the deal as "public and transparent."
In May 2025, footage was released of the luxurious plane that the royal family gifted to Trump. It is known that the aircraft includes an upper-deck lounge, a master bedroom and a guest bedroom, a relaxation area with a plasma TV and a private office, as well as two bathrooms and an onboard kitchen. It has been called a "flying palace."
