Trump Suggested a Deal with Iran Could Be Reached Before May 14
American President Donald Trump suggested that the US and Iran could reach a deal before his trip to China in mid-May.
He made this statement in an interview with the PBS broadcasting company.
"It's possible, yes," he said.
Trump's trip to China is scheduled for May 14-15.
"I think there's a very good chance of it ending, and if it doesn't, we'll have to start bombing them again mercilessly. It's very simple," the US president added.
He was asked to comment on whether he remains optimistic about the possible outcomes of the negotiations. "I think so. But I've thought that with them before, so we'll see what happens," the American leader replied.
