Trump stated that Israel's operation against Iran was not a surprise to him

US President Donald Trump said that he knew in advance about Israel's plans to strike targets on Iranian territory. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the American leader, the start of the Jewish state's operation against the Islamic Republic was not a surprise to him.
On the night of June 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the beginning of Operation "Am KeLavi" ("Nation as a Lion"), aimed at damaging Iran's nuclear and missile programs. After this, targets in several settlements of the Islamic Republic were struck. According to The New York Times, Israeli forces attacked six military bases in the Tehran area. The state agency IRNA reported that an explosion occurred at the nuclear facility in the city of Natanz.
In connection with the incident, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei addressed the citizens. He stated that he had given the country's army "freedom of action" in responding to strikes from Israel.
Later, Trump commented on the situation. The US President expressed hope for the resumption of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.
