US President Donald Trump signed a document extending the state of emergency in the country for one year, justifying this decision by Russia's alleged harmful foreign policy activities. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

The document indicates the continuation of the state of emergency previously established by President Biden's executive order (No. 14024 of April 15, 2021).

In a statement dated April 14, Trump lists actions by the Russian side that, in his opinion, represent an "unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States." Among such actions, he included alleged attempts to interfere in democratic processes in the US and other countries, cyber attacks, and exerting influence on foreign governments.

"Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act, I am extending the state of emergency for one year," Trump's decision states.

Prior to this, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that congressmen would pressure the administration of US President Donald Trump to impose even more sanctions against Russia.
