The Telegraph: Putin wants the entire Donetsk region without a fight

US President Donald Trump expressed support for Russian ruler Vladimir Putin's plan, which involves transferring key territories in eastern Ukraine under Moscow's control in exchange for ending the war.
This is reported by The Telegraph, citing sources.
It is noted that the Kremlin demands Ukraine cede the Donetsk region, parts of which are currently controlled by Kyiv. In response, Putin promised to freeze the front line and cease further offensive actions.
According to media reports, these demands were voiced during Putin's meeting with Trump in Alaska. On Monday, Trump plans to present these conditions to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington.
Sources in the Republican Party reported that Trump considers territorial concessions "part of the price of peace." At the same time, he is offering Kyiv security guarantees similar to NATO's Article 5, which would obligate the US and European allies to respond to new Russian aggression.
European leaders are concerned that Zelensky will categorically reject any proposals to transfer Ukrainian lands, which could provoke a sharp reaction from Trump. On the eve of the summit, a meeting of coalition leaders led by Great Britain, France, and Germany is scheduled to take place on Sunday in Washington.
London emphasized that any agreements on territorial concessions can only be accepted with the consent of the Ukrainian government.
President Zelensky, in his address, thanked allies for their support and stated that "Ukraine is not ready to discuss giving up its own territories." According to him, the main condition for peace should remain "a complete cessation of killings and security guarantees for Ukrainians."
