Google Translate helped a woman marry a Turk in just a few weeks

In Turkish Bodrum, 34-year-old American Natalie Badura and 26-year-old Turkish security guard Muhammet Celik got married just four weeks after meeting, partially overcoming the language barrier with the help of Google Translate. This was reported by Patronal Dunyasi.
The couple met in one of Bodrum's cocktail bars, where Natalie came with her friends. Muhammet, who worked there as a security guard, was initially shy about approaching the American due to his lack of English, while Natalie, in turn, didn't speak Turkish. However, he managed to access her Instagram account (the owner company Meta is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned) through one of Natalie's friends who went out for a smoke. The next morning, Muhammet sent Natalie a message, beginning their communication through Google Translate.
Despite language difficulties, the couple quickly fell in love with each other, and in just four weeks their relationship became serious. Natalie's visa was about to expire, and not wanting to separate, the lovers faced the necessity of making a decision. After unsuccessful attempts to quickly extend the visa or find other legal ways to stay in Turkey, Natalie and Muhammet decided to get married.
The wedding ceremony, which cost a modest 4,100 Turkish lira (approximately 8,100 rubles according to the exchange rate on August 10, 2025, - "Gazeta.Ru"), took place shortly before Natalie's visa expired. To process the necessary documents, Natalie had to go to Ankara, and the wedding took place one day before her visa expired.
Natalie herself describes what happened as something "crazy and magical," calling it a "leap of faith." She expressed absolute happiness and no regrets about such a hasty decision, emphasizing that love sometimes doesn't wait for the perfect moment or perfect plans.
Although the newlyweds' friends and families were initially surprised, they gave the couple full support. Now Natalie and Muhammet live happily in Bodrum, focusing on joint blogging projects on social media. Natalie claims that this spontaneous decision turned out to be the most correct step in her life.
