Heavy rains and a storm in Istanbul (Turkey) led to serious consequences and disrupted the usual rhythm of life in several districts of the city. Two people died as a result of the bad weather.

Streets and roads were flooded, which complicated traffic. In addition, due to unfavorable weather conditions, school classes in the city were suspended for one day.

Against this backdrop, questions arise: could similar weather phenomena also be observed in Azerbaijan? Are heavy precipitation and a sharp deterioration in weather expected in the country in the coming days?

In a conversation with Oxu.az, Director of the Bureau of Hydrometeorological Forecasts of the National Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, Gulshad Mammadova, reported that no heavy rains are expected in the republic until the end of the week.

"No precipitation is expected across the country. In the evening and at night, brief rains and thunderstorms are possible in some mountainous areas," she emphasized.
